ADS1118 is a high-precision, low-power 16 bit Δ - ∑ analog-to-digital converter (ADC). This device is packaged in an ultra-thin and small-sized VSSOP-10 package, which has all the functions required to measure the most common sensor signals. The ADS1118 integrates a programmable gain amplifier (PGA), voltage reference, and oscillator, making it a high-precision 14 bit temperature sensor. With these functions and a wide power supply voltage range of 2V to 5.5V
ADS1118 is very suitable for power and space limited sensor measurement applications.
The ADS1118 data conversion rate can reach up to 860 samples per second (SPS). The input range of PGA is ± 256mV to ± 6.144V, and it can measure large and small signals with high resolution. This device measures dual differential inputs or four single ended inputs through an input multiplexer (MUX). High precision temperature sensors are used for system level temperature monitoring or for cold junction compensation of thermocouples
ADS1118 can be selected to operate in continuous conversion mode or single mode. The device automatically powers off after completing one conversion in a single mode. In idle mode, single mode significantly reduces flow consumption. All data is transmitted through the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). The rated operating temperature range of ADS1118 is -40~+125℃
